Q. I really only wanted a tent in case of rain. But I checked the forecast and the weather looks great for this weekend. Can I cancel the tent the day before if the weather looks good?
A. You can cancel the tent, but you will only get half of your money refunded to you. The reason for this is because we have put that tent aside for your use, and we aren't able to rent it to someone else.
Q. If my event is cancelled or rained out, will I receive a refund?
A. No. We cannot control the weather. We will do everything in our power to help you prepare for inclement weather, ie. floors, ran gutters, etc., but we do not give a refund for an event canceled due to weather conditions.
Q. What is a damage waiver?
A. The non-refundable damage waiver covers the cost of broken or damaged items. For example, should you rent champagne flutes and your guests break a few of them (accidentally!!) the cost of replacing those items is covered by the damage waiver. MISSING items are NOT covered under the damage waiver.
Q. Am I required to take the damage waiver?
A. No, you are not required to take the damage waiver. But you will have to sign an agreement stating that you have declined the damage waiver. You will be responsible for broken, damaged and missing items.
Q. Why do I have to pay for missing items, I know they were all there when we were done with the event?
A. Sometimes, things don't come back from an event. It could be that during cleanup, things got moved to another location and others were left behind. We understand this. We make phone calls to customers to allow them to look for these missing items. If they are not found and returned in a reasonable amount of time, then we will charge for the missing items.
Q. What if I do not use some off the items i rented. Will I still have to pay for what was not opened?
A. Yes, you will still have to pay for unused items. Everything is washed, sterilized and wrapped before it goes out to a customer, and we are not able to put items that go to a customer back onto the shelf without rewashing, sterilizing and rebagging them.
Q. I forgot to order wine glasses. The order is already here. Will I have to pay for someone to bring them t the event site?
A. Yes. There is an extra delivery fee if we have to come back out to your site if you forgot to order something.
Q. There's no water under the tent, do I still need to rinse the dishes?
A. You will need to speak with your caterer about figuring out a way to rinse the dishes, but the dishes MUST be scraped and rinsed before they come back to Special Events.
Q.Who will put the linen, china, glassware and flatware on the tables?
A. Usually your caterer will put the above-mentioned items where they need to go. You should talk with your caterer about this ahead of time.
Q. What do I do with the linens, china, etc after the event?
A. The china HAS to be scraped and rinsed after the event and put back in the appropriate racks. The glasses need to be emptied and put back in their appropriate racks. Linens need to be put into the blue linen bags that Special Events provides, and the bags need to be left OPEN so that wet linen does not mildew.
